§ 8.1. Prior ordinances and regulations.

All by-laws, ordinances, resolutions, rules and regulations of the village which are not inconsistent with this Charter and which are in force and effect on the effective date of this Charter [December 31, 1951] shall continue in full force and effect as by-laws, ordinances, resolutions, rules and regulations of the city until repealed or amended. If any such ordinance, resolution, rule or regulation provides for the appointment of any officers or any members of any board or commission by the village president, such officers or members of any board or commission shall, after the effective date of this Charter, be appointed by the council.
